Chef Tony Matassa was trained in his family's restaurant virtually from the time he was born! In his career, he has worked with some of the best chefs in the Cajun heartland, including Louisiana Chef Andrew Jaeger, French Chef Gerard Hemery, and Baton Rouge favorite Chef Joey Distefano.
Chef Tony loves the challenge of adapting his favorite hand crafted recipes to be cooked on the grill. Many of his childhood favorites, such as New Orleans style BBQ Shrimp have evolved into even more flavorful dishes.
In February of 2008, Chef Tony teamed up with BBQGuys.com to bring product demonstrations, recipe videos, and all things cooked or grilled to the world. Ever since, the BBQGuys.com YouTube following has grown. Chef Tony's daily goal is to make customers feel comfortable cooking and entertaining for friends and family in their outdoor kitchens.
